Heeheeeee! Squeeee! I just got two emails from Nigel Slater! Unfortunately they were a bit radgy – I emailed him to call him out for an article he wrote about what vegetarians should eat at Christmas, and he emailed back to say he’s given up trying to please us picky veggies. So I emailed back apologising for possibly appearing hostile and he emailed me back to say we’re cool, and now we’re BFFs. And ::cough:: he’s touched that we have a picture of him up in our kitchen. ::stalk stalk::

Whenever I do a typo, he lets me know quickly so that I can correct it before my pedant’s crown slips (too far). One more reason to love my equally pedantic boyfriend.

It appears that everyone else has, and I feel left out, dammit.

Daniel’s a super friendly and helpful Robot. He gets a lot of flack when the site has… issues, but he always answers emails courteously, promptly, and with surprising humanity considering he’s man made and doesn’t have any kind of a soul. What’s more, he makes a great effort to walk the walk, and remains an active part of the 43 community even though technically he’s our lord and master and we are but serfs bowing in his metally presence.

This is not, of course, the only reason I like Abs, but right now I could kiss her feet for being my chief motivator and cheerer and all-round encourager in stopping smoking. Abs, you are utterly wonderful.

Finally, after having her on my list for a year, we met at The Decemberists gig in Glasgow last night. We squealed a lot and jumped up and down excitedly, and talked about art school and studying and stuff, but mainly we just squealed and jumped up and down. She was really sweet – tiny wee, very art-studenty stylish and has lovely lovely neat eyebrows! PC, it was a pleasure to meet you at last, and I’m glad I didn’t blow your geek cover like I thought I had ;-)

It was very short but sweet with a few hugs and squeals and oooh look at you being a real live person… how strange? just before The Decemberists show started
she was gorgeous and sparkly and fun just as i expected!
and she and Headapollo are just lovely together :D

There’s a multitude of reasons, like… OK, mainly I want to see if it’s true what Agent99 said about her having a nice rack… but the prevailing reason at the moment is so that I can give her a bottle of vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, and I fully intend to do so shortly. It may well be the shortest and most ridiculously themed 43 meet ever, but hey, it’s so crazy it might just work.

I was actually convinced Calypte was already on my “wants to meet” list, and I was amazed and disgraced to find she wasn’t, because she’s been on the one in my head for like 18 months. I’m disgusted with myself for never expressing it in writing. Sorry, Calypte. Allow me to pay you reparations for the unintended slight, in sauce.

She’s so thoughtful! I was panicking about my time management skills, so she sent me a copy of The Mind Gym: Give Me Time, but not only did she send me the book, she included a little handmade card and a lovely little note. Bless her. It’s the little things that make all the difference. Evenstar, you are lovely.
